PARKING IN SISSON MEADOWS

In order to address parking issues within the community, we would like to provide the following reminders:

Please do not park on the grass or sidewalk in the common areas.  Treat the common areas as you would the grass between the sidewalk and curb in front of your home.

Some residents have noticed the NO PARKING signs in our community.

Long term parking between the sidewalk and curb damages the grass.   Homeowners do not want cars parked on the grass in front of their homes, because they are trying to keep Sisson Meadows looking great!  The grass in the common areas is not irrigated, and the grass does not recover very well when stressed.  The HOA is responsible for maintaining the common areas, and the HOA is trying to keep up the appearance of the common areas to protect our property values.

If you or your guests must park on the street, please keep all four wheels on the pavement and curb.  It is a violation of the City Code to park on the grass between the sidewalk and curb.

Thank you for noticing the new no parking signs and thank you for not parking on the grass any time for any reason.

Homeowners and the HOA can have illegally parked vehicles towed from their property, including the area between the sidewalk and curb.  It is a City of Titusville Municipal Code violation to park a vehicle or trailer in the area between the sidewalk and curb.

The process to have a vehicle or trailer towed:

  1. Notify Titusville Code Enforcement about the vehicle or trailer that you believe is illegally parked.
  2. Code Enforcement will come out to assess the possible violation, and if they determine there is a violation they can issue a citation.
  3. When Code Enforcement determines that there is a violation, the vehicle or trailer has 48 hours to be moved.  After 48 hours the vehicle or trailer can be towed.  Speak to someone at Code Enforcement before calling the towing company to let them know your intent.
  4. If the vehicle or trailer is moved within the 48 hour period and parks in violation again, it is a new violation, and the process starts over again.

Parking a vehicle in the street, with all the wheels on the pavement and curb, is not a violation.

Refer to Chapter 20 of the Titusville, FL – Code of Ordinances for more information on parking regulations.  Contact Code Enforcement if you have any questions about the Code of Ordinances.
